Emily Walkey, MD
I am a board-certified pediatrician and mama of four amazing children! I studied biochemistry at Purdue University before attending medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine. After graduating medical school in 2008, I then briefly moved South and completed my pediatric residency at Duke University Medical Center. Prior to moving to the vibrant community of Ave Maria, I worked as a primary care pediatrician in rural Wisconsin for six years. In 2017, I joined the Braden Clinic family and have been happily caring for the children of Ave Maria and the surrounding areas as a pediatrician.
My husband also works in the community, teaching theology at Ave Maria University. In my free time, I love crafting with my first-born, reading with my older son, building robots with my younger son, and snuggling with my baby. I also enjoy cooking, baking, and cake-decorating.
Professionally, my areas of special interest include breastfeeding medicine and treatment of pediatric obesity. I love working with children of all ages and am currently accepting new pediatric patients from birth through their college years. I offer complimentary meet and greet appointments for expecting parents and families looking for a new pediatrician.
